Did you learn new techniques or processes as part of the work for this project? I learned a lot about scratch boards during this project. I haven't used them a lot in the past, it's an interesting idea creating the lights instead of the darks but I find it very hard to think about and achieve. It was a fun experience but I prefer adding the shadows.
Did you try something that you weren’t sure about as part of this project? I haven't worked a lot with anatomy so this was pretty ambitious. Trying to understand how the proportions of the body worked on a not quite human figure.
When did you step back and analyze you work during this project? After I finished the mermaid and fish I stepped back and looked at the environment, I had originally planned to put a coral reef around and in the background but with however thing else was going it seemed too dull and boring so I decide to use a kelp forest instead.
